Ancient buffalo carved paths through the wilderness that led America’s first pioneers and explorers westward. One such trail led to the banks of the Kentucky River where we’ve been making bourbon whiskey the same way for over 200 years. www.buffalotracedistillery.com
In 1987, Tom Bulleit started the Bulleit Distilling Company, leaving a successful law practice to fulfill a lifelong dream of reviving an old family recipe. The whiskey, with its signature high rye content, gives a bold and spicy character with a distinctively smooth, clean finish. Pure limestone-filtered water provides the foundation for the whiskey’s character, while charred American oak barrels give it a slightly smoky backbone! www.bulleit.com
With the tallest stills, the most advanced approach to extra maturation and a commitment to only ever using our casks twice, you could say we’re striving for one thing – an unnecessarily well made whisky. We’ve always realised that pursuing perfection is rather a long journey. We just know it’s a trip worth making. We just know it’s a trip worth making. https://www.glenmorangie.com/en/our-stories At 5.14 metres (16ft 10 1/4 inches) our stills are the tallest in Scotland. Not to mention the same height as a fully grown adult giraffe! Which means that only the very lightest and purest vapours make it to the top of their long copper necks, giving a smoother, purer and more elegant whisky. At Glenmorangie we select the finest oak casks in which to mature our whisky. But that’s not all, because we then only use each one twice (whilst many others use theirs up to five or six times), ensuring that the maximum amount of flavour is always extracted during maturation, delivering a rounder, smoother taste. Having pioneered extra maturation over twenty years ago, our whisky creators continue to travel the world in their search for exceptional casks. Casks that will provide additional, intriguing layers of flavours to the original character of Glenmorangie. www.glenmorangie.com
MADE WITH VIKING SOUL SINCE 1798 We craft our whisky with a pride, integrity and fierce independence, passed down from our Viking ancestors who settled on Orkney over 1,000 years ago. www.highlandparkwhisky.com
Roe & Co was launched in 2017, marking Diageo’s return to Irish whiskey. A blend of malt and grain from various distilleries across the country, it’s been matured predominantly in first-fill bourbon casks. This has a velvety, creamy texture and notes of sweet fruit and vanilla.
The Naked Grouse enriches the flavours of Scotland’s favourite whisky by maturing in sun dried sherry oak casks. The influence of their quality first-fill sherry casks develops a deep russet appearance and an aroma that melds black cherries, cocoa and oak. The taste experience is sublimely smooth with famous trade-mark dried fruits yielding to cinnamon sticks and nutmeg. The sweet finale is rich in dark chocolate with a spicy, orange finish. A fine example of the blender’s art! www.thefamousgrouse.com/our-whiskies/naked-grouse
