Op donderdag 8 maart strijkt Gin Mare neer bij De Ebeling op de Overtoom in Amsterdam. Tijdens deze Amsterdam Cocktail Week special kun je genieten van smaakvolle Gin Tonics en heerlijk verse oesters. En zeg nou eerlijk, daar zijn donderdagen toch voor gemaakt? Limited space available- first come first served! Elliot Ball is a London bartender and one of the founders of The Cocktail Trading Co. He’s been working bars since way before it was legal for him to do so, in all aspects of hospitality. He studied Psychology at the University of Bath, England, specialising in Cognitive Neuroscience, and bartending to fund his degree. Upon graduating, much to his parents’ dismay, he decided to pursue a career with booze instead, because it’s just that much more fun. Since then, he moved to London and began working in a variety of bars, mostly favouring cocktails, and beginning a consultancy career. For a while, he applied his knowledge in Neuroscience in the pursuit of perfection in drinks and the understanding of flavour, but eventually, a realisation came – the mind creates flavour, not the nose or the mouth. Thus he focused on the psychology of food and drink enjoyment for the many, rather than the minutia for the few – having a good time is always the winning outcome. The Cocktail Trading Co. was formed with his partners, Andy Mil and Olly Brading, who shared his beliefs on hospitality. Thus, their business simply aims to run great bars, even if you just want to relax with a beer. The cocktails themselves are concept-heavy serves that are fun and pleasing, feature flavours that are approachable but intriguing, but primarily highlight an atmosphere and experience all can enjoy. De ene negroni is de ander niet… Zo blijkt tijdens Amsterdam Cocktail Week in Razmataz, want voor een week is Razmataz EnSuite dé negroni-bar van Amsterdam. Italiaanse mixologist Ciro Adriano de Georgio en Head Bartender Wessel van Schaik van Razmataz sloegen hun Campari-rode handen in één en creëerden een menu met klassieke en alternatieve Negroni, bijvoorbeeld de Negroni Sbagliato en de Mezcal Negroni. Daarnaast schenken wisselende gastbartenders, zoals Stefano Pastorino en Riccardo Guerrini, iedere avond een andere signature Campari-cocktail. Krijg je geen genoeg van Negroni?
